The Unquenchable Spirit that propels PBG to industry leadership and Operational Excellence extends to our commitment to improve our communities. Through volunteerism, financial support, product donations, and the use of our many assets, PBG is dedicated to uplifting families, refreshing the neighborhood places that support them and responding to their needs in times of crisis.

Unique to PBG is our approach to philanthropy, which is driven directly by the interests and priorities of our employees. Our goal is to support the nonprofit organizations and causes that are important to our people, their families and communities. To fulfill this objective, The PBG Foundation established matching grant programs based on financial contributions and employee volunteerism.

At the corporate level, PBG maintains strong relationships with national nonprofit organizations that can meet local needs. In 2008, we participated in five major projects with Rebuilding Together — a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates homes and renovates community facilities in underserved neighborhoods — and signed on to do 10 more projects in 2009.

We also strengthened our relationship with Fisher House, which provides a “home away from home” for military families visiting loved ones at major military and VA hospitals, by making a $25,000 donation on behalf of PBG’s 3,000 active and retired servicemen and women.

Inspired by the idea of a PBG employee in Texas, PBG also signed on as the first corporate participant in the U.S. Wireless AMBER Alert Program that issues urgent public bulletins to help solve child abduction cases. With nearly 30,000 PBG employees using company-owned mobile phones around the U.S., we now are prepared to use our resources to help find an abducted child and bring him or her home safely.

Whether we are partnering with national nonprofits such as the United Way and Feeding America, or local nonprofits like the Blind Center of Istanbul, Turkey and Meals-on-Wheels in Winston Salem, North Carolina, PBG believes that every good deed makes a difference. Our Unquenchable Spirit delivers on that idea by serving those in need around us.
